A new interior should just be there when you walk in. When it isn’t, you get empty rooms, walls you can walk through, a floor that drops you into the void, or the old building still standing where the new one should be. Here are the usual causes and how to fix each.
Quick check: is the resource started, and is anything else placed at the same location? Those two questions solve most cases.
The interior is completely missing
- Check the
ensureline inserver.cfgand look for errors in the console when the resource starts. - Map resources need
this_is_a_map 'yes'infxmanifest.lua. Without it, the files are not loaded as map data. - Some interiors need a dependency, such as an IPL loader or a base map resource. Check the product notes and install what they list.
The old building shows, or two interiors overlap
Two resources at the same spot conflict. This happens a lot with popular locations like the main square, police stations and hospitals. Search your server for other maps at that location, keep one and remove the other.
Invisible walls or falling through the floor
- Only some players: it is usually their client. Collision can load late when memory is tight. Send them our texture loss fix and cache guide.
- Everyone, every time: a collision file is missing or another map removes the ground there. Reinstall the MLO cleanly and test with other map resources stopped.
The interior pops in late or flickers
Interiors load through their entrances. If players teleport inside, the interior can take a moment to appear. Put teleport targets just inside the door rather than deep in the building, and avoid stacking many heavy interiors close together.
Doors, lights and job points don’t work
The MLO provides the building. Door locks, elevators and job markers come from your scripts. After installing, add the new door coordinates to your door lock config and move job points into the new layout.
Test before you open it
- Walk the whole interior once, including stairs and every door.
- Drive a car into garages and bays.
- Check your resource monitor while standing inside.
- Join with a second account to confirm another player sees the same thing.
